USPA/UPT TANDEM INSTRUCTOR COURSE
The USPA Tandem Instructor Course is tailored for seasoned skydivers aspiring to become certified tandem instructors, guiding students through exhilarating jumps. Throughout the course, candidates receive thorough training on safety protocols, equipment handling, teaching methods, and operational procedures. By participating, you'll acquire the essential skills and confidence required to excel as a tandem instructor. Embark on this thrilling journey toward certification with us.
PREREQUISITES:
Be at least 18 years old
Have a USPA D license or foreign equivalent
Currently possess or has possessed any USPA Coach or Instructional Rating
Logged at least 500 ram-air jumps
Minimum of 3 years in parachuting
Present a current FAA Class 3 Medical certificate or military or foreign equivalent
ABOUT THE COURSE
The course fee is $750, and it must be paid in its entirety before the commencement of the course.
Other expenses include jump tickets, pack jobs and tandem rig rentals, which vary depending on the market prices of the drop zone. Additionally, there is the USPA rating fee of $72 and the UPT rating fee of $50, which is payable upon the successful completion of the course.
The USPA/UPT Tandem Instructor Course spans 3-4 days (weather permitting) and consists of two distinct phases:
ONE
During the initial Tandem Training Jumps phase, the classroom training encompasses both theoretical understanding and practical application of tandem skydiving principles. Participants will complete the manufacturer directed familiarization jumps.
TWO
Phase two is dedicated to honing the all the essential skills required to enter the professional realm of tandem instruction meeting all USPA tandem instructor requirements.
Ensure you possess the most recent editions of the Skydiver’s Information Manual (SIM), the Instructional Rating Manual (IRM) and a downloaded copy of the Sigma Tandem Manual. You can conveniently access all manuals on the Documents page. Additionally, please print out all tandem documents below and bring them with you on the first day of your course.
